Qiu Zhenzhong
Contemporary artist, calligrapher, poet, art theorist. Professor and doctoral supervisor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, director of the Comparative Research Center of Calligraphy and Painting; member of the Exhibition Qualification Examination Committee of the National Art Museum of China; Vice President of Pan Tianshou Research Association. Ink consultant for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
He has held many solo exhibitions in Beijing, Geneva, Nara, Hong Kong and other places.
Won the “Chinese Book Flanting Award” theory award, education award, art award.
Won the tenth “Shanghai Literature Award” Poetry Award.
Won the Gold Award at the Jeonju International Calligraphy Biennale in Korea (2013).
He is the author of “The Form and Interpretation of Calligraphy”, “Where the Gods Dwell”, “Writing and Observation”, “Calligraphy”, “Chinese Calligraphy: 167 Exercises” and a collection of poems “State-IV”, etc.
